Keith Pullin

Keith Pullin has been an avid gamer since the days of the Commodore 64. Now as the editor of Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition 2008, this former Space Invaders champion, couldn’t have invented a better career for himself in the virtual world of Second Life. Ready to plug into his new role atop the world record-breaking authority’s first-ever book devoted solely to the world of gaming, Pullin is set to press play on the latest chapter of his life.

Apart from a brief six-month stint as a ski instructor in the French Alps, Pullin’s entire adult life has revolved around the videogame industry. Beginning as a videogame reviewer in the early 90’s, he soon took a job with Nintendo coming to the aid of frustrated gamers on its customer help line. If you had trouble getting past a level of Super Mario Bros. or saving the princess in Zelda, chances are Pullin talked you through it. It was a demanding job requiring expert knowledge of some of Nintendo’s most popular and difficult games. This invaluable experience set the stage of Pullin’s next career move as a games consultant.

For the next 10 years, Pullin worked with such industry heavyweights as Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Midway and Sony Consumer Entertainment in various roles where he was able to shape the direction for many of the world’s most popular gaming titles.

Now, as the Gamer’s Edition Editor at Guinness World Records, Pullin is hoping to translate his years of experience and passion for gaming into a fantastic new book for people just like him. What’s his favorite record in the book? Longest Prison Sentence For Playing A Video Game – the UK’s Faiz Chopdat was jailed for four months for playing Tetris on his cellular phone while on a flight home. What’s the best game ever made? A toss-up between Acornsoft’s 1984 title, Elite, and the modern day masterpiece World of Warcraft.

Full of industry insight and knowledge, Pullin has a breadth of experience that has been instrumental to success of the inaugural Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition 2008.
